JAMILA JOHNSON is an attorney practicing primarily in the areas of constitutional and commercial litigation at regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt. She earned her undergraduate degree from Seattle University in mass communications with an emphasis in journalism and her law degree from the University of Washington where she was the editor of the Shidler Journal of Law Commerce & Technology. Jamila is passionate about constitutional rights and was awarded an Olympia Fellowship to work with the Secretary of State’s office monitoring election law legislation in the 2006 legislative session. She has represented clients with Innocence Project Northwest, a legal clinic dedicated to exonerating those who have been falsely convicted of serious crimes. Additionally she competed in the Freedom Forum First Amendment moot court competition and was the vice-president of the student chapter of the American Constitution Society. She currently is the editor-in-chief of De Novo, the official publication of the Young Lawyers Division of the Washington State Bar Association and is a proud resident of the 34th Legislative District.
